Thank you for contacting PCT Building & Pest Inspections.
We will be in touch soon.
PCT Building & Pest Inspections specialises in detecting timber pests such as termites, borers and wood decaying fungi. Using advanced technology and following Australian Standard 4349.3-1998 and AS 3660 guidelines, inspections uncover hidden pest activity and provide a plan to secure your investment for the future.
Termites are a significant concern, with CSIRO statistics showing one in every five Australian homes is affected. On the Gold Coast, termite infestations are particularly common, posing a serious risk to property value and structural integrity. Inspections utilise the following tools to ensure comprehensive detection:
Although thermal imaging is not a requirement under Australian Standards, it is an additional service provided for thorough inspections. With detailed timber pest reports and tailored maintenance plans, PCT helps protect your home and investment from the devastating impact of termites.
We will liaise with the current tenants, agents or sellers to arrange for access to the property.
For a relatively small investment of a few hundred dollars, a combined building and pest inspection can give you complete peace of mind that the property you’re buying is structurally sound and free of potentially damaging pests. It can also help you negotiate the sale price if there are costly repairs that need to be done. As a seller, an inspection can also give you confidence that the house you’re selling is of a good condition and you won’t get any surprises when the buyer gets their own inspection done.
At PCT we have one inspector that does both inspections. We are a family owned and run business and our inspector does all inspections to ensure quality inspections and report each and every time.
Yes. If your roof void is easily accessible and safe to access then we will inspect it. If the inspector deems that the roof void is unsafe to enter, then they will do all that they can to inspect it by other means. This may involve a visual inspection from the manhole or an exterior roof inspection. The report will clearly outline how the roof void was inspected and if there were any impediments.
Yes. This is important as there is no sub floor for the inspector to assess due to the concrete being on the ground. Termites only need very small gaps in the concrete to gain access to timber structure (e.g. gaps around pipes, electrical cables, through covered weep holes etc).
Pest inspections offer numerous benefits for homeowners. Firstly, they help identify existing pest problems and potential infestations, allowing for timely intervention before they escalate. Regular inspections can also enhance property value by ensuring that buildings are free from damage caused by pests such as termites or rodents. Additionally, pest inspections promote a healthier living environment, reducing the risk of allergies and diseases associated with pest infestations. Finally, they provide peace of mind by ensuring that your property remains safe and protected, ultimately saving you money on costly repairs and treatments in the long run.
